Hybrid Vehicles for Livery and Transportation Industry

Giving people environmentally friendly livery and airport service choices has gotten a little easier  thanks to  the work of the auto industry in making those types of vehicles available to businesses who want them.  Hoping to encourage companies to buy these new, often more expensive yet less popular models of cars, the Federal Government passed a law that offers up to a $3,000 energy-conservation tax credit to companies that buy vehicles like the Mercury Mariner Hybrid or the Hybrid Ford Escape.  The Mariner hybrid Boasts a 34/mpg in city, easily tripling the Industry standard Lincoln Town car with 15/mpg in city.

Fuel efficiency is a key factor in deciding whether or not to buy a hybrid vehicle, especially now that gas in nearing 4$/gallon across the country. There are many helpful resources available online.

Here are some useful comparisons of some of the most popular hybrids on the market (US News best cars and truck web site), and a link to the Department of Energy's fuel Economy website.
