Understanding Where Limo Anywhere’s Flight Information comes From
Having accurate flight information is essential when coordinating airport pickups for clients. Delays, early arrivals, cancellations, and gate changes can all affect chauffeur timing, vehicle availability, dispatch decisions, and the passenger’s overall experience.
Limo Anywhere’s real-time flight tracking brings these updates directly into reservations and the Dispatch screen. However, understanding where that data comes from is key when something appears delayed or incorrect.
In the first part of this series, we’ll explain how flight data reaches Limo Anywhere, which parts of the process the platform controls, and why discrepancies should still be reported to Limo Anywhere Support.
Where Limo Anywhere’s Flight Data Comes From
Flight information passes through several separate systems before it appears in Limo Anywhere.
Airlines collect information about their flights using data from the departure airport, the aircraft in service, and the arrival airport. This can include information such as:
- Scheduled departure and arrival times
- Estimated departure and arrival times
- Actual departure and arrival times
- Flight status
- Terminal and gate information
- Delays, cancellations, and diversions
Airlines and airports make this information available to flight-data providers such as FlightStats. These providers collect and standardize data from many different sources so it can be used by travel services, transportation platforms, and other connected systems.
Limo Anywhere integrates with FlightStats to bring the available flight information into reservation routing and Dispatch.
The general flow of information is:
- The airline or airport generates or updates the flight information.
- FlightStats receives and processes the available data.
- Limo Anywhere receives the flight information from FlightStats.
- Limo Anywhere matches and displays the information within the appropriate reservation and routing segment.

This allows operators to monitor flight activity from within their existing Limo Anywhere workflow instead of searching for every flight individually.
What Limo Anywhere Does and Does Not Control
Limo Anywhere does not independently generate the underlying flight data it receives. However, it does control how the information received from FlightStats is matched, displayed, and used within the platform.
| Limo Anywhere Does Not Control | Limo Anywhere Does Control |
|---|---|
| Flight schedules generated by airlines | Matching flight information to reservation routing |
| Flight statuses reported by airlines or airports | Showing whether a flight has been verified |
| Estimated or actual flight times received from external sources | Associating flights with pickups, drop-offs, stops, and waits |
| Terminal and gate information supplied by airports or airlines | Displaying flight details within Dispatch |
| When an external source publishes an update | Applying the flight offset selected on a reservation |
| Errors originating in an external flight-data feed | Updating pickup times based on received flight information and configured settings |
If incorrect or incomplete information is provided by an external source, the same information may appear in Limo Anywhere. An update may also reach one system before another, causing an airline website, airport website, public tracking service, and Limo Anywhere to temporarily display different information.
For example, an airline may update a flight’s estimated arrival time before that update is processed by FlightStats and made available to Limo Anywhere. The difference does not necessarily mean that Limo Anywhere failed to track the flight. It may mean that the connected systems received the update at different times.
This distinction is important when troubleshooting. Incorrect flight details may originate with the airline, airport, or FlightStats, while an issue involving verification, display, or pickup-time behavior may require review within Limo Anywhere.
Identifying which part of the process appears incorrect can help Limo Anywhere Support investigate the issue more effectively.
Why Different Flight Sources May Vary
Real-time flight information is continuously changing. A flight may be delayed more than once, reassigned to a different gate, diverted to another airport, or updated as new operational information becomes available.
Because each service retrieves and processes information separately, flight-tracking sources may not display identical information at the same moment. Differences can occur because:
- One source received an update before another.
- The airline changed the estimated arrival time.
- An airport updated a terminal or gate assignment.
- A codeshare flight is listed under more than one airline or flight number.
- A cancellation or diversion has not reached every connected system.
- Incomplete or incorrect information was supplied by the original source.
Flight tracking provides the latest information available to each connected system, but it cannot guarantee that every source will display the same information simultaneously.
Reporting Flight-Tracking Discrepancies
Operators should report apparent flight-tracking errors to Limo Anywhere Support, even when the underlying information may have originated with FlightStats or another external source.
Reporting specific examples allows Support to review:
- The flight information entered on the reservation
- Whether the flight was matched and verified correctly
- The data received from FlightStats
- How the information was displayed in Limo Anywhere
- Whether the selected flight offset behaved correctly
- Whether an integration or display adjustment may be possible
Support can also document recurring discrepancies and communicate relevant issues to the flight-data provider.
When reporting an issue, operators should include the reservation number, airline, flight number, travel date, airports, screenshots, and the approximate time the discrepancy was observed. Because flight information can change quickly, these details help establish what each source displayed at the time of the issue.
In Part 2 of this series, we’ll cover how to enter and verify flight information in Limo Anywhere, including the details required for automatic tracking and common reasons a flight may not verify.
