Configuring Service Type Pricing

Many operations offer a variety of services, each with its own pricing requirements. As your operation grows, managing those pricing structures manually can become increasingly difficult.

Service Types provide a way to organize the services you offer, while Rate Matrices determine how those services are priced. Associating a Rate Matrix with a Service Type allows Limo Anywhere to automatically apply the correct pricing whenever that Service Type is selected.

How Service Types and Rate Matrices Work Together

Service Types identify the type of transportation being provided, while Rate Matrices determine how those reservations are priced.

When a Rate Matrix is assigned to a Service Type, Limo Anywhere automatically references that Rate Matrix whenever the Service Type is selected. This allows different Service Types to use different pricing structures without requiring reservationists to manually choose a Rate Matrix during the reservation process.

For example, you might configure:

• "From Airport" to use the "Fixed" Pricing Type with an Airport Fixed Rate Matrix.
• "Point-to-Point" to use the "Distance" Pricing Type with a Distance Rate Matrix.
• "Casino Charter" to use the "Hourly" Pricing Type with an Hourly Rate Matrix.
• "Holiday Shopping Shuttle" to use the "Passenger" Pricing Type with a Passenger Rate Matrix.
• "Wedding" to use the "Fixed" Pricing Type with a custom Wedding Rate Matrix and a higher hourly minimum.

Because the Rate Matrix is assigned directly to the Service Type, pricing is applied consistently whether the reservation is created internally or through ORES.

If your pricing changes in the future, you can update the associated Rate Matrix without creating a new Service Type.

Assigning a Rate Matrix to a Service Type

To associate a Rate Matrix with a Service Type:

1. Click "My Office" in the Navigation Bar.
2. Navigate to the "Company Settings" tab and select "System Settings."
3. Select "Service Types" from the left-hand menu.
4. Select the Service Type you would like to edit.
5. Select the appropriate option from the "Pricing Type" dropdown menu.

6. Select the appropriate Rate Matrix from the available list.

7. Click "Save" to apply your changes.

Repeat for any other Service Types you’d like to update.

Once saved, the selected Pricing Type and Rate Matrix will automatically be referenced whenever that Service Type is selected on future reservations.

Testing Your Configuration

Before using the updated Service Type, create a test reservation or submit a test quote through ORES to verify that the correct Pricing Type and Rate Matrix are being applied.

Confirm that pricing matches your expectations before using the updated Service Type for everyday reservations. Testing your configuration beforehand can help identify pricing issues before they affect reservationists or customers.

Once a Pricing Type and Rate Matrix have been assigned to a Service Type, Limo Anywhere automatically applies the appropriate pricing whenever that Service Type is selected. As your pricing changes over time, it's worth reviewing your Service Types periodically to make sure each one is still associated with the correct Pricing Type and Rate Matrix.
